SPICE

The UW-Madison NSEC has partnered with this outreach activity of the Institute for Chemical Education (ICE) to provide graduate student and postdoctoral researchers with a framework for volunteering in the community. An established student group, SPICE provides demonstration programs and hands-on activities to primarily school-aged audiences at a variety of venues. SPICE's repertoire involves several demonstrations and activities that relate to nanotechnology, and NSEC volunteers have the opportunity to develop new nanoscale activities.

A team of NSEC graduate students, led by Karl Stuen, is developing a Nanotechnology SPICE demonstration show. The show, consisting of 15 demonstrations, is in its final stages of development and will first be presented to the public during the summer of 2007.
